Simone Skelton - Lead Coordinator

My passion for advocating for those with disabilities began 9 years ago when I discovered my youngest daughter Genevieve had epilepsy. Since then, I have been on a journey with NDIS and discovered that both children Savannah and Genevieve have a range of various disabilities. My personal experience with my own children and my industrious research, sparked an insatiable interest within me. This is when I concluded that my life’s vocation was in the disability sector.

In addition to my extensively lived experience, I also have education in individual and disability support. I expertise allows me to consistently demonstrate how deeply committed and passionate I am about advocating for, caring about, and connecting with participants and their families.

My passion for this people focused industry is displayed in my high level of commitment to supporting people with disabilities to live a valued and meaningful life. My compassionate dedication drives me to actively create a family feeling for the participants, families involved and their careers. I foster an environment where the team can laugh, share a joke, connect, and always feel comfortable knowing they can always approach me when they wish to.

My life values, strong work ethic, skills, and enthusiasm make me passionate about being an active participant in the individual participants lives, to walk alongside them on their journey as they grow and flourish. It is my philosophy that the participants will have choice and control and therefore be able to decide which carers they would like on their team. This personally selected team will be there to support, care for and empower the participants by assisting them reach their goals, to help them to be present in the community, to be independent, to build friendships and to live fulfilling lives.
